Each and every day we play tricks with ourselves. We Bewitch our thinking and mindsets to fit a groove that is no longer our own. These habits will be coming to the forefront this month.
October helps us to heal the past and to look towards the future while staying present. Sounds convoluted I know.
The fall this year will be helping us to heal those parts of us that have been hurt or wounded from the past. Autumn also helps us to stand up for ourselves and speak up. We may at times have to come head to head with a situation, or issue that is more than trying for our patients/ emotions. These could be health-related, dealing with others or something we have no control over.
Remember that these testing times are not setbacks. They are skill setting workshops. Hear me out, I know how obscene this might sound. As you have probably found out, I am human along with you. With this being said, I too struggle with situations of many kinds. This month I have had strong warnings from my body that I MUST make some changes or my health is going to pay for it.
My largest warning came in the form of a 'health day", which caused me to be partially incapacitated for most of the day. Throughout the day my loving roomie had to remind me that I was not having a health set back. It was just a day that my body needed in order to move forward. She had reminded me that I had been doing an awful lot lately and it has simply taken its toll. To stop fighting the rest and embrace it. So, I did. I even "let" her cook. LOL. It was pretty darn good soup too!
(I have a wee bit of control issues regarding the kitchen ;-) )
Having something so familiar from my past just spring up brought those trying emotions forward.
On this "health day," I was able to embrace the downtime and rest. While doing so I actually had some Big Aaha moments. I discovered some important and helpful things about myself that day. Topics that I had been putting off or couldn't see because I am too busy most of the time. These "golden nuggets" of mine will be able to help me in all areas of my life going forward.
I am sharing this story not to toot my own horn of dealing with tricky situations while finding a positive twist. I share this story in hopes to assist you in seeing that you too can Bewitch yourself into embracing the changes afoot. By changing the mindset of feeling tricked by the universe or by ourselves, we can bewitch/ shift our thinking to see the bigger picture, or at least have an openness to changes.
Hallows Eve or Samhain
Samhain is a time for the veils to be thin. This means communications with ones beyond this plan and time become easier. Hense the stories and traditons having to do with "rising the dead" or spooky tales of ghosts and tricks from the other beings.
A fun way to help with your visions or communications is to have a bonfire with some friends. Fire is an element that helps to warm the spirits as well as the body. Take turns sharing good stories and even ones of loved ones that have past, while around the bonfire. The laughter and care are sent through the embers to the spirits we are so lovingly speaking about.
Dreams may be stronger as we get closer to Hallows Eve. They might make sense and guide you along your tricky month. You May wake for no reason in the night as your awareness is stronger to all the energies around you at this time.
Earlier during the Beltane meditations and ceremony for yourself, you may have visualized your dreams and manifestations growing. "Planting" your new starts for blooming in your life.
Now is the time for harvesting these intentions and manifestations.
Looking back at what you had 'Planted' in the spring, write or in your creative way, see where your harvest bloomed and where it may have had an unsustainable environment.
When you do this, keep in mind that these are not setbacks. These moments of "health day" times are the universe's assistance to help us along our journey.
Examples would be:
Let's say you wanted to grow in your work life. You had planted for forwarding movement and change that grows with your hearts' passion. You see change and movement with possibilities greeting you, that could be great for you. However, looking at these changes feel like they will take you in the opposite direction of your heart s' passion is called to go.
Then this could be a lesson or guidance from the Universe to listen to your gut, your heart and follow it's wisdom.
Following the same example, but this time the presenting changes seem to align with your passions. Maybe the issue rising up now is fear, dought, maybe it is lack of time or even many big changes that you have to face in order to make these new offerings work in your life and it's passions.
This is where meditation and journaling are very beneficial. The remnants of Haley's comet help to shed those past issues. Bringing with a rush the emotions and issues we must face to gather our harvest.
Take some time for yourself. Enjoy a walk or moving meditation. Sit in a comfy spot and let yourself relax a bit. Then at this moment maybe visualize or meditate. Allow yourself to do this without second-guessing things. write, sketch or in your creative way; get it recorded for yourself.
I would love to know how you are doing. Even if it is not where you wanted to be during Beltane. Please feel free to E-mail, Msg or call me.
Blessings Dear One!

For generations, we have gathered our gourds and carved silly faces in them. We may have asked why without answers to our questions. "Why a face?" "Why missing teeth?" "Why scary faces?"
Well, I have answers!!! HeeHee.
Most of the carving traditions came from the Celtic heritages as they migrated to the Colonies. From there they bloomed into more fanciful tales as they merged with the Native tales. Later the other cultures added their twists and now we have the American Carved pumpkin.
The Celts being ones that feared the mischievous behavior of spirits, would carve gourds for their Samhain feasts. Carving faces that would draw the fae away from the dancers at the fires. These carved gourds would be lit and set around the gatherings to "guard and protect" the attendees.
There is also a spookier store from the Isles of a man named Jack that played with the devil and to remember him the Jack O'lantern was created.
Some Native American cultures have stories that believed that if they carved the resemblances of loved ones in the fall foods at the time of the Hunters Moon. That they would be able to communicate with them more. These were also ways that the holders of stories would depict the legends. The whole food item would be used in many ceremonies.
The modern carvings are a lovely mix of all of those symbols to ourselves. This year maybe you carve your manifestations and dreams into the shinny orange orbes of delight.
